Meeting

Monday 2, at noon at Sturbucks seems to work for all of you. So we'll meet then. I'll try to make everything as fast as possible so you can go back to your finals!

Go With CEA

Is anyone else having problems with them? First, my account info wouldn't show up, and they wanted me to pay without telling me exactly what I was paying. Then, when they finally fixed that, it wouldn't accept my payment. Saying I had "insufficient funds." I called my bank; they said it went through. It just didn't show up on my account for CEA. I'm just frustrated because I don't want to get kicked out of the program for not paying; when I have. Am I the only one fighting with them?

Change of plans for the meeting

I'm sorry to announce that none of the dates are going to work for our meeting. Let's see if the same days during finals week can work.

The tentative dates are:

Monday 2 @ 11:00 am
Wednesday 4 @ 12:30 pm
Friday 6 @ 11:30 am

Last meeting before leaving for Spain!

Hola,
I know this is a frantic time for everybody, but I believe that we should meet one more time before we leave for Spain in order to tie all loose ends. I don't know anybody's final schedule, so I am proposing 3 different days. If you  absolutely cannot do it one of them please let me know.
The days are:

Monday 25, at 11 am
Wednesday 27 at 12:30 pm
Friday 29 at 11:30 am

The meeting would be only around 45 min., maybe less (same place as last time: Cultural Resources Room). We can also do it after the finals week, but I don't know if some of you will be here or not. Let me know if that is a better option for you.

Semana Santa en Sevilla

Semana Santa (Holy Week) is one of the most spectacular events that take in the city of Sevilla. Despite the obvious religious implications of this celebration, you really do not need to be a devote Catholic to enjoy it.
The tradition of carrying  floats (pasos) representing the passion and death of Jesus Christ dates back to the late Middle Ages (around 1350).

You have to belong to a brotherhood to be able to march with the images in an outfit that for Americans may seem infamous (to say the least), but which precedes by centuries that hateful organization and has nothing to do with it.

Myriads of people accompany the images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin (each one has a  different name, but they all represent the same Virgin Mary).

The newspaper Diario de Sevilla makes a comprehensive coverage of the event.

Dinner Plans

After looking at everybody's input no weeknight will work considering everyone has class or can't make it. So I'm proposing we do this Friday or Saturday! Please give me your feedback asap :)

Flights for May 25/June 23

So is everyone planning on taking the flight that Joaquin recommended? I want to book the flight but I also want to make sure we travel together! Let me know asap what everyone is planning to do! If we all agree to take this flight we can book it quickly. Kaitlyn

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS -IMPORTANT!!

 I forwarded a message to your emails with the itinerary. The price is $1425. However, I just went to www.statravel.com and found out that for a trip departing St. Louis May 25 (arriving to Sevilla on the 26) and coming back June 23 is only $1103. I would just go ahead and take that one. I have talked to Seville and they  can change the dates to accommodate the schedule to our preferences. So, we will start on May 26 and finish on the June 23, i.e. the whole program is moved one day.
Jaid, do you have a ticket yet? Let us know!
Please, do not procrastinate on this, it seems like prices keep going up by the minute.
